I know that in a tank you should have about 10X turnover. But how much of that should be going through the sump as opposed to powerhead water flow? I'm getting an equipment list together for my new 120 and i'm stuck on which pump to purchase.
It has to be quiet, doesn't have to be submersible. In a 120 you should have 1200 gph turnover, which is exactly what the overflows in the 120 are rated for. I was thinking about getting a Tunze 6060 which is rated for 1600 gph. If that is the case, how much water should i have flowing through my sump?
