you can try a little peice .. place the corner of it under a rock to hold it down as to not let it float away, but the flakes and mysis should be ok.. i would once in a while chop up some shrimp and feed

I feed the coral a mix of marine snow and dt's. I tried to feed fresh shrimp, squid, clam, and others and the fish never ate it.

The wider the variety of foods you feed the better! The Angel will probably appreciate seaweeds. I feed my fish Formula One, Prime Reef, Special Formula VHP, Emerald Entree, Marine Cuisine, Mysis. These are all frozen foods, although I think Formula One and Prime Reef also come in flake form.
I always soak things like Mysis, Emerald Entree and Marine Cuisine in garlic extract or vitamins like Zoe, etc. Also, for some reason my fish only devour all of Prime Reef if soaked in garlic extract; otherwise half of it goes floating away uneaten.

At least one company also recently started producing arcti-pods. (Do a search on google.) You store these in a bottle in a fridge. They're bright red and larger than cyclop-eeze. And all of my fish go crazy for them. In the water column they look like live brine shrimp, but are very nutritious.

Ok another feeding question. What about my hammer and gsp's? I am feeding marine snow right now but what will promote growth? Oh yeah xenia too.

oh ok. Sorry I don't know all the terms yet. What do I do spot feed it. And how? I've had it for 3 months and have never fed it (lfs said you didn't have to). I have been using marine snow just incase and I have a few little unknown things in there too.

Just give it a piece of shrimp or meaty food that you feed your fish once in awhile. I don't think marine snow will directly benefit it..I don't think so. It's more for filter feeders is'nt it?

Have you ever read borneman's book. I was thinking of making the coral food he describes there and doing the same with food for the fish. I'm gonna pick up a blender and the fresh foods this weekend. Oh on a side note I took a serynge(sp) and fed the hammer with some mysis and oh man did the heads realy open up today. Now how often should I feed it?

I go by the "hey I have'nt fed that in a few days " philosophy...that way I don't overfeed, or worry . Once a week or so. A warning about making your own food, it stinks up the kitchen!
Borneman's work is great...nice guy too.

I'm watching his fragging video right now. And I can put up with a stinky kitchen for healthy stuff in my tank. I love my tank.

the the only thing that would eat the sea weed sheets is possibly the coral beauty, but sometimes they don't take to it.
