The common rule of thumb is that a larger tank is easier to maintain than a smaller tank, because greater water volume = diluted pollutants. I have a 58 gallon tank and have had good luck. I do also believe that with the proper education and effort any size tank can be successful. Good luck in the ever addicting habit of salt water.
