What song describes your mood?

I'll join CaulaReef4 and jump on the Rush bandwagon.
Spirit of Radio
"Begin the day
With a friendly voice
A companion, unobtrusive
Plays that song that’s so elusive
And the magic music makes your morning mood"

With the Republicans in power and corporations running our country my mood is reflected in a very obscure song...."Two Hangmen"...ever heard it? Its by a group called Mason Profit.... read the words that speaks volumes for a old hippie like me...
"As I rode into Tombstone on my horse, his name was Mack,
I saw what I'll relate to you going on behind my back.
It seems the folks were up in arms, a man now had to die
For believing things that didn't fit the laws they'd set aside.
The man's name was Ima Freak, the best that I could see
He was the executioner, a hangman just like me.
I guess that he'd seen loopholes from working with his rope
He'd hung the wrong man many times so now he'd turned to hope.
He talked to all the people from his scaffold in the square
He told them of the things he'd found but they didn't seem to care
He said the laws were obsolete, a change they should demand
But the people only walked away, he couldn't understand.
The Marshal's name was Uncle Sam, he said he'd right this wrong
He'd make the hangman shut his mouth if it took him all day long.
He finally arrested Freak, and then he sent for me
To hang a fellow hangman from a fellow hangman's tree.
It didn't take them long to try him in their court of law
He was guilty then of thinking, a crime much worse than all,
They sentenced him to die so his seed of thought can't spread
And infect the little children, that's what the law had said.
So the hanging day came 'round, and he walked up to the noose
I pulled the lever but before he fell I cut him loose
They called it all conspiracy and that I had to die
So to close our mouths and kill our minds, they hung us side by side.
And now we're two hangmen, hanging from a tree,
That don't bother me at all.
Two hangmen hanging from a tree,
That don't bother me at all.

Saw Mason Profit "Live" last weekend...
They're back together and on tour, after a 30 year hiatus...
"Hangmen" was the "encore" song...
Can you picture a couple hundred ageing, gray haired hippies, holding hands, swaying side to side, and singing the words rather than Talbot...

Yup I can...and I was aware Mason Profit was making music again. I saw them in St. Louis many years ago...as a young teenager that song had a profound effect on me...especially in the days of NIXON...I know foul language is not polite...but sometimes trash needs to be uncovered before people can see the source of the stench!!

Good lyrics there. Never heard of Mason Profit before. This song is from 1975.
The Gates of Delirium
Stand and fight we do consider
Reminded of an inner pact between us
That's seen as we go
And ride there
In motion
To fields in debts of honor
Defending
Stand the marchers soaring talons,
Peaceful lives will not deliver freedom,
Fighting we know,
Destroy oppression
The point to reaction
As leaders look to you
Attacking
Choose and renounce throwing chains to the floor.
Kill or be killing faster sins correct the flow.
Casting giant shadows off vast penetrating force
To alter via the war that seen
As friction spans the spirits wrath ascending (slowly) to redeem.
Wars that shout in screams of anguish,
Power spent passion bespoils our soul receiver,
Surely we know.
In glory
We rise to offer,
Create our freedom,
A word we utter,
A word.
Words cause our banner, victorious our day.
Will silence be promised as violence display?
The curse increased we fight the power
And live by it by day.
Our gods awake in thunderous roars,
And guide the leaders' hand in paths of glory to the cause.
Listen, should we fight forever
Knowing as we do know fear destroys?
Listen, should we leave our children?
Listen, our lives stare in silence;
Help us now.
Listen, your friends have been broken,
They tell us of your poison; now we know.
Kill them, give them as they give us.
Slay them, burn their childrens' laughter
On to hell.
The fist will run, grasp metal to gun.
The spirit sings in crashing tones,
We gain the battle drum.
Our cries will shrill, the air will moan and crash into the dawn.
The pen won't stay the demon's wings,
The hour approaches pounding out the Devil's sermon.
