I want to know which starfish is best. The tank is 60 gallons and has been running for well over a year. It is fish-only with a Maited pair of gold stripe maroon clownfish, Bicolor dottyback.

The knobby is a neat loking star, but IMO I have found the chocolate chip to be the most hardy..

I vote none of the above unless. They are all cool looking stars and good as long as it is a fish only but... If you want a star there is nothing cooler than a brittle star. They stay hid alot sticking out a leg trying to sense food. Thats not the cool part though; They will eat from your hand. Take a silver slide, hold it near and watch it come out and wrap around the fish and drag it to a comfortable place to eat. Well worth it.

I love red general stars. Awesome color, active, and can be fairly easy to keep if kept in a tank with a nice bit of open substrate.

The knobby ate my zoos yellow zoos almost the same day, lfs guy told me it was reef safe, he got it back. I know the brittle was not on your list, but I love feeding mine silverside and watching it come out. Very hardy, mine is about 8 years old plus the time before he made it to the fish store.
