What temp. do you keep???

Just wondering - what do you keep you temp. at & is it o.k. to vary within 2 degrees when the lights are on??:notsure:

I keep mine at 78-79. 82F is ok, but might be a bit on the warm side, and if it were to raise a little bit for some reason, you might have some problems. I run a 175w MH on my 30g canopy, and dont run any fans at all.
Why is your tank running so hot?

82 to 84, but only because i have no heater to turn down :nope:
stability is more importatnt, and 2 degrees is not a bad fluctuation from night to day.
IMO, anything 78- 84 in most cases, however what is more important is definitely stability coupled with the inhabitants. Some species had cooler needs and some warmer. The catalina goby is a good example, 68 is the only way you can even attempt to keep them for any amount of time.
