What temperatures work well for reef tanks?

I'm thinking of keeping my tank at 77.5 degrees is this a good temperature for keeping reef tanks? What are the best temperatures for growing corals like sps and lps and making them thrive especially with shrimp? Thank you in advance

I prefer to run my reefs at 83 degrees. this is great for the corals, BUT there is very little room for error. your tank has to be well set up and equipment heat etc factored in because once you go over 83 you start running the risk of over heating your tank.
I recommend between 77-79 for most starting out.

You MUST tailor your tank to the temperature where the animals you keep thrive in the wild. This also means that you need to pay attention to where your animals come from to avoid incompatible temperature requirements.
I use to keep mostly Red Sea animals where a good temp is 82F - 83F as long as you have plenty of waterflow and a good skimmer. It's also easier to maintain more stable temperatures in the higher range.
