I have a wispy looking red algea growing in the corner of my tank. What is causing it and how do I get rid of it

could be cynobacteria. To get rid of it you shoud have water flow in your tank

Thanks for this info. I am having this problem too. My nitrates are 0. I started following the directions today. My slime was so bad my clown was trying to host in it. I have been leaving my lights on way to long. So that is first step(bulbs are new). I changed 5% of the water today. I went and got distilled water by the galloon at walmart. I am getting ro unit soon. Does this slime alter growth of sponges,corals, or live rock. I did not have this problem until I added live rock a few weeks ago.
