Can you tell me what these are.. All i know is that i purchased the rock from a LPS and it had all of these things on it. It looked cool so i purchased the rock ( all she charged me was for the rock) I put it in my quarantine tank just to be safe. Can you tell me what they are,, When i put them in the tank, some of the dudes popped off and stuck to my glass. they look cool, but i just want to know if you have any idea on what it is before placing in my big tank. Here is the PIC

no they would NOT!

since it jumps off..... Its might be Glass Anemones. Cause the brown spot looking thing in the bottom center of the picture might be what he was talking about.

Yes thats what they are take it out ASAP!!!!
And do a really really really through scrub!!! They will spread and if you get part of them they will come back as 2!!! They are almost as annoying as snails.

God I hate those things... guess what.. you just bought a nightmare.
If satan had little babies and they lived in the ocean, they would be aiptasia. I have tossed entire rocks because of the difficulty of removing a massive infestation. It's damn near impossible if you have them by the hand fulls. I had hundreds... I threw the damn rock away. Now I have some stragglers that I'm trying several methods to deal with.

well i did a very serious saltwater lots and lots of salt to a little bit of water dip.. and they are all dead. I left the rock in for a while ( 3 hours ) i put the rock back in quarantine and they still have not reopened.. So i hope they are dead.. lookin good so far. i will have to see tomorrow. I found a few stragglers in the tank and i removed them. Damnit i thought for a minute there that i had some cool coral for really cheap.. Go figure nothing is that cheap right>>LOL>????

Go to a local hardware store and grab one of these for ten bucks.

Super simple for ridding pests off LR for good. A quick spot balst with a torch and the aptasia is GONE. Not cooking the rock, but to catch the little bugger that pull back into the rock and hide in crevices. Its perfect and doesnt hurt the rock or introduce anything harmful to the DT.
Think of it as throwing a little BBQ for your peppermint shrimp!!!
I have a video I am trying to post of a step by step of doing it. I keep making my videos too long and hard to edit. Nother day or two and it will be done.

HAHAHAHA Never thought of that...it would mose definately get rid of'em. LOL I love it.. Saltwater did the job though. Then i washed it down with high pressure tap water to get rid of all remaining whatevers..
