I just started my tank about 7 weeks ago I have 4 Damsels a scopus tang and a Tomato Clown also so emerald crabs. I noticed my Clown has got ICk so I treated with Quick Cure for Three days. I then Did my first water change ( it was time anyway) and treated one more time. It clears up off the clown in the eve. but every morning he has spots again. My Domino damsel is the only other fish who is now experiencing this too. I removed my filter and carbon. What can I do it wont clear up?

You'll want to go to the disease & treatment forum. Ick is actually a tough fight with lots a theories...and few proven treatments. Check out the FAQ at the beginning. I used hypo salinity (explained in the FAQ) to beat ick...

Which part? Kick Ick is another treatment for Ich, one of the better ones on the market. Or, you could chance a fresh water dip. Or you can Quarantine the Fish that are sick. Do you have a seperate tank set up for this? If not then your options are limited. Fresh water dip, using RO/DI water STABLE and to same temp as your tank. Put the fish in the fresh water for no more than 5mins, and thats pushing it. But its not going to guarantee that they don't get ich again. Its in your tank, and has a life span. Also, the dip may stress them out terribly and not for the faint of heart, your fish may not go on living.

What size is your tank??? IMO, I will NEVER add any medication of any sort to my main display tank!!!!! It would be better to do in a QT tank!!! What are your Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, PH, and Alk levels??? It doesn't matter what type of medication you add, if these levels aren't good, they'll stress out with ich. IMO, garlic foods works quite well with ridding ich since it brings up their immune system. :happyfish

well ich will remain in dispay untill you remove fish
they feed off of fish escpeccially at night when the fish is less active --
QT your fish and and wait out the life cycle of the ich in main display while treating your fish in QT. simple and easy. and a surefire cure. your fish will rejuvinate the ich if they are left in the display.

55 Gallon. I used Quick cure and have now found out it turns any silicone (corners) of your tank blue.
I should have researched more before treating but I knew you have to act fast. All fish are still alive and look healthy except my Clown and Domino in the mornings. I checked my levels and everything looked great. I also performed a water change and vacumed a few days ago. Any advise would be highly appriciated I don't want to lose all the work I have put in to this tank. If I should get a QT tank what size? How can I catch my fish remove LR?

30-40 gallon tank should do it for ya. And yes you gonna have to remove those LR to catch those fish. I hope your running carbon. Those medications can mess up your system. And no, you don't need to treat inverts! :happyfish

Just a guess but in the morning before the lights first come on is when the pH is at its lowest point, I wonder if this could have anything to do with the ICH?

No, that has nothing to do with it. The reason for ich showing up in his tank is because he added too much too fast. :happyfish

Keep in mind that the most common cause of ich (other than introducing an already affected fish to the tank) is stress caused by temperature changes. SWF just cannot take rapid temp changes. Did you acclimate your fish slowly when introduced? Do you have a top quality heater with a programmable thermostat?
Also note-Often the best treatment is no treatment! Yes, that is true-dont panic!
Fix the problems, then-
Feed foods with Garlic or the new A+ stuff by Thera Fin which will definitely help.
To take all your fish out and treat them is major-they have to be out of the tank for 6 weeks to be effective-for all the ick parasites to die- and that is stressful for your fish as well.
You did overload your tank too quickly-a pitfall of many new anxious aquarists, but it doesnt have to be a disaster.
There are approx. 20 different protozoans that come under the heading of 'ick' and that is why some treatments are not effective and others are. The best cure is healthy fish in a well maintained aquarium.

Not to hijack your thread, I have been battling ICK as well , Although i have a QT tank setup, I just can't see stressing out my fish at this point! It's been almost 2 weeks now, only fish showing signs is my achilles tang, spots all over during the day and they seem to go away at night! I have raised my tank temp slightly to speed up the life cycle, trying to burn them out! I am not sure this will work, But all other stats are perfect!
Sufice it to say my ICK magnet is working properly!

I do not mean to make light of a sick fish! But i also belive to panick and take the fish out will create a more stressfull situataion and possibly cause others to die in the process! Wish me luck on my sit back and watch approach! :scared:
