i've seen several creatures (worms up to 2 inches long w/thousands of legs) in my tank. can anyone tell me what they are? they must have come with the LR and have grown enormously.

they are probably bristle worms - beneficial scavengers

Dear hobbyist , the worms in and on your lr are bristle worms .These worms help break down small bits of uneaten food,fish waste,and detritus . They're what you call beneficial scavengers.They are harmless . But don't touch them with your hands . Those bristles can come off into your fingers. If they do,

use some tape to remove the small bristles .
