Again... 300 000kms on it... original clutch and trans... took 15 pounds of boost on ORIGINAL STOCK internals... all with over 300 000kms... did I mention... it never burned a drop of oil? That was by far... the most reliable car I have ever owned and the fact that on a daily basis I drove the snot out of it and it didn't harm a thing has to say something about the car. I don't even care if it was girly or not.
PS... you can make them look less girly you know

Sorry man, still a chick car...

Driving a semi fast Miata is still not cool. I am very biased. Imports suck. They cant do half the stuff an american car do without falling apart. My buddy has a 9 second honda civic that runs 151 in the 1320. Changes his tranny out after every few races. My other buddy has an 8 second 5.0 coupe that he drives to the track. In general Imports need to be driven harder to get the same result as say a corvette that will get 28 mpg on the highway if driven like a normal person. The each their own. I just dont understand why people consider Imports as "sports cars". They are sporty. But mod for mod displacemnet for displacement they get crushed. Everything goes out the window once you no longer leave it stock.
I'd love a vette, the problem is I can't afford a new vette.

Well, it at least he got the right "R3" model.
Got to drive a couple of them at the Mazda Challenge I did. The thing with them more then anything else, is the ease-to-drive, or there lack of. You have to wind the dog snot out of them to go anywhere. Revving to 9000 rpm is quite fun around a track, or for occasional blasts down the road. But like having to sit and wait for the rpms to come to 7000, just to merge into traffic for instance, is a big turn off. Definitely not a "point and squirt" car. You can't just blip the throttle to go around someone, it's a planned procedure.
Now that I have had my car for about a week I have to say I pretty much love everything about it, but you bring up a good point. It does take a sec to get going, but once it does, it is alot of fun to drive. Plus, like you said it doesn't redline till 9000 rpm's so I can hit about 80mph in 3rd gear. Handling is also very good and it's the only R-3 model I see on the road. I felt the body style of the 2010 R-3 was very nice, but again my only complaint so far is it could use more torque...

Okay. You still did not prove any points. 15 pounds of boost from what? All turbos and superchargers are not created equal. 15 pounds from a 82 mm turbo or F1 is not the same from a smaller set up now is it?
Also 180k miles with all that power on stock clutch. Try again. Had you said stock tranny stock internals up graded clutch I would had believed you. That car is set up to road race which Im sure you have done.
Im not some Jonny Knowbody who hasnt had sports car that were modified. I have had them. All of my friends had some of the fastest cars you have ever seen. Most make over 800hp in their Camaros and drive them around town.

Lol, try that one again... It's one or the other
And I believe basing your opinion entirely on your car, would be the definition of bias

I'm sorry I haven't seen this sooner. I've been out of town since Saturday.
Anyway...I had a 1994 300ZX TT.
I read a consumer reports on the Genesis and still have to say, I'd pick one up, if I had the money. They were comparing it to the new Mustang, Camaro and Challenger, so not quite the same...but still.

Yea, that was circa 2006, I think, when I got to do that. Back when Mazda was getting sued that the RX-8's weren't making their claimed power figures. 2009 was the mild refreshing year, and the R3 specifically has a few upgrades that should make it better. Though there just are inherent limits to the low end you can make with the Wankel...

Yea, the Genesis is a massive leap forward for Hyundai, from the Tiby. The coupe is a bit down market for me, but if they stuffed the 4.6L V8, and the dash from the sedan into the coupe, I'd be very interested.
But yea, as far as the V6's go, the V6 Gensis coupe is defintely better then the V6 Challenger, ahead of the V6 Mustang, but trails the V6 Camaro by a bit.

That and they put it in a super sexy body. I thought the Altima coupe were hot, when they came out, till I saw the new Genesis.
My girlfriend was a big street racer...funny to say, if you ever saw her. But, she had a 2001 Tiby, crazy body kits, rims and just about every penny you could put in the beefed up, after market engine, she had it. I like the newer body Tibys and she thinks they're ugly...I think the old Tibys are ugly.

I'm not trying to argue with you man... I am stating facts about my car that I owned... and I may be the luckiest person in the world that my car didn't blow up.... I was SHOCKED that nothing broke as that was my plan... to kill the car so I could swap in a 13B with matching tranny. Well I guess you could say I killed the car... when the guy who bought it picked it up the head gasket let go... but meh, I don't want to argue about useless crap.
EDIT: My bad! The car had a Fly'n Miata clutch and fly wheel after the turbo install... BUT I had the car for a while before upping boost and the car had around 90k miles on the original clutch. Stock clutch would have never been able to hold that power.
