What to do about detritus?

At least i THINK that's what I have on my hands. I started my saltwater tank (37 gallon eclipse with biowheel and charcoal passthrough filter) about 10 days ago. (w/ damsels) salinity is perfect, ph 8.0 ( a bit low ), and i have about 20 pounds of live rock so far (good stuff, lotsa activity, even some coral growing!) I was told (please don't hate, i did this as a newbie on advice from fish store) i'd be ok to add a parrot fish and tomato clown, as my water tested fine (for now!) i bought a test kit today, and am keeping up with my pH, ammonia, and nitrates, as well as the calcium for the coral (at 450 now, perfect).
<breath!> Ok, so my problem is, there is this whitish film looking like a spider web on my crushed coral, as well as some copper or gold coloration on some of the fake plants and coral. what the heck is it? is it detritus (been researching online)? what do i do to clean it up without putting it into the water? everyone is acting healthy, but it reminds me of algae, which makes me nervous. should i reduce feeding? i have one 24" daylight bulb and one blue bulb for the live rock, just fyi. sorry so long, but this is my first post, thought you'd all need the info to help diagnose. have a great weekend everyone!

Sounds like you have some rotting leftover food or something. Siphon it out and do a small water change is my advice.
