As long as its not by the return pump should be fine. I herd some people say wash it in a cup of saltwater to get all the critters out, there maybe some bad critters in the chaeto.

i guess to keep it away from the pump, i could just put it below the bioballs, in the empty compartment of my wet/dry for the time being, until i get my fuge hooked up... the place i got it from was absolutely great! they propogate their own corals - well, they have to in order to be able to sell anything.. its a residential zone turned reef! I got lost for an hour and a half lookin thru the store.. clams, clams, more clams, seahorses galore, shrooms, u name it, it is probably there.. lol

Sweet. Theres a place like that where I live about 90miles south. Do you have proper lights on your main tank to keep algae? Why wont you keep it in the display tank? The algae needs light.

i am going to put it in the fuge as soon as i pipe it in with the sump sometime this week/weekend. I did put a little into the tank - not much at all, and the rest into the sump for now (not under the bioballs - wouldnt get much light there.. I have a NO flourescent growin it for now. The fuge is going to be a 15 gallon tank setup with no flourescent for now, until i can afford better... the tank has pc 2x65 10000k + 2x65 actinics + lunar... but i dont want alot of algae in the display.. i want to keep it clean.
