I have a Niger and a HumuHumu. My boyfriend came home yesterday with a volitan lion and a green wolf eel. So heres the problem My niger is picking on the lion and the eel. So now the lion and the eel are nipping at him when ever my triggers swim by. What should I do. I dont want the new fish anyway, but I dont want anyone fighting. Please Help.
This was a bad idea I think.

Take them back

I guess depending on your set up you could move some rocks around... might work. As long as it isn't violent picking, you could give it a few days and see if things settle down.

Your tank is too small for all of those fish to begin with, but aside from that, having a Volitan with a humu humu is asking for trouble. Its just a matter of time before the trigger starts attacking the lionfish and kills it.

We are planning on a bigger tank, but we were waiting until I finished school. I came home to the green wolf on the floor and everyone else was fine. No picking or anything. What could I use for a clean up crew. I know Inverts will not last. Anything will be helpful.

Two triggers and a volitan in a 55? Its just a matter of time, IMO, before the triggers turn on the lion. Its also going to be hard for the slower lion to get enough food.Triggers have a way of reducing a crowded tank to their liking. I'd really suggest both of you read up on stocking fish before you even consider any more fish. Believe me, most of us have been where you are; and the lfs is more than willing to help us overstock. The cleanup crew has to be pretty much you. They aren't a requirement, anyway.

I here ya on the fighting thing when it comes to fish. Food equal's competition and it will become an issue i have a peaceful niger with my violatin and he is just barley able to get food.
Have your boyfriend read this post.
Also what kind of filtration do you have? Because that many messy agressive large fish in a 55 will mean high ammonia and nitrate issues.
