what to feed

I have a hermitcrab and I am not sure if I should feed him every second day or every week or what so how many times do i have to feed him?

Hermits are scavengers. You shouldn't have to feed him anything.

at the moment it's in the QT on its own, no rocks,sand or anything, just it and the glass and the filter but it has alot of diatom algae on the bottom glass.

Hermit crabs are just scavengers and if he is all you have put a few pellets or a little mysis and see if he eats it. They usually scrounge food left overs from your fish or pick at live rock.
