What to put under pump in my sump to quiet it?

I was reading on another thread where some people use rubber under their pumps in their sumps (sounds like a Dr. Seuss book) to reduce the vibration noise.
What is a good source of rubber to use that would be reef safe. Any house hold rubber items or cheap walmart rubber products that anyone uses for this purpose?

I wish someone would answer this post, I have been thinking about the same thing, I was looking a some kind of rubber mat. Just want to make sure it would be safe.

I have rubber under mine too, but because the acrylic (premade sump) is so thin it resonates and makes it worse :( going this weekend and picking up a 10 gal to convert

If were talking submersible pumps - see if you can elevate the pump entirely off the bottom of the sump floor.
Sort of hang it there with some fabricated plastic hangers, or make a small cradle out of plastic for the pump to rest in.
Then as it vibrates ( they all do ) it will not have anything to vibrate against.

You can get the stuff tcoco is taking about that is also sold as shelf liners and placemats (I think, I can't get the link to work). It has holes in it, so water doesn't affect it in small quantities. I use a piece with my router when woodworking for holding on to small pieces.
Also, for a submersible pump, it helps to connect the pump to short pieces of flexible tubing and then connect that to the PVC inlet and return lines. This coupled with keeping it suspended off the bottom should help quite a bit.
