what type of algae is growing on my rock??????

i have just tufa rock in my tank but i have a bunch of snails and hermits with coraline algae on thier shells and im starting to see some real faint but bright green spots appearing on my rock could this be coraline gorwing or is it most likely some kinda nussance algae ? the tank is about 3 1/2 months old snails and hemits been in for about a month

i would say its algae. but the best way to make sure is to let it grow. could be something desirable

i have green coralline in my tank and it seems to grow well.....it looks just like the purple stuff its just green.....its cool.....you will prob see some purple stuff soon!!!

i'd say if it seems to be the same pattern as coralline, like small round spots, then it's probably coralline (good). if it's an all over green, and gets hairy lookin, then it's probably nuisance algae. hermits and crabs will eat it if it's nuisance algae, provided you have enough of them.
