What type of glue and plastic do I use?

I am wanting to build a hang-on refugium for my 75 gal tank. It will be aprox. 18"w x 6"d x12"h. How thick should the plastic stock be and what type of glue do I use. I know to use aquarium sealant after the glue cures, but I want it to look nice and don't want it to look slapped together.

Are you referring to acrylic?

In that case, use a product known as WELD-ON to join the peices of acrylic together.

1/4" will work. Call some acrylic places and ask for cut offs in the size you need. They should sell them pretty cheap and should have the weld on that you need. I use #4 water thin and then I run a fillet in the seam with #16 thick.

agreed where do u get the # 16 adds a supper strong seal they used it on my tank.
