What type of Starfish

Currently I have a chocolate chip starfish. Unfortunetly he enjoyes eating my clean up crew. He has gone through a number of turbo snails. I love having a starfish as part of my tank. Is there another type of starfish that is more friendly? I am wanting to get a sea cucumber and possibly some sand fleas.

The blue starfish is considered reef safe and also the sand sifting star. Most brittle stars are also "safe".

i have a bahama star and i like him. he dosent bother anything else in the tank and is always visible. they are not to be considered reef-safe, although mine dosent bother my hitch-hiking buttons , as i see in your sig you are FO so dont think that should be a prob.

I have a sand sifting star and he gets along with everything. I would definetly suggest one of these. The blue star is also a very good addition, he is sensative however. good luck

as anthem already stated, sand shifting stars are a bad idea becasue they will sift through your dsb and consume all of the organisms that live in it. You want these organisms becasue they break down waste and are an important part of your tank's ecosystem.
