My first real job was at a locally owned pet store gettin paid under the table......stayed there for a year and a half, burnt it down
.....stayed there for a little while longer...now I'm at a cabinet shop....making much more money!:D
At one time I worked for a pool company cleaning up after pool jobs....getting $125 a job and they'd sometimes give me 15 jobs to do in a week.....That was some VERY GOOD money...while I still had my other normal job....

I babysat when I was 12 until I was 18. Made $0.75 an hour. My dad was not employed for much of my adolescence so I paid for my own entertainment and made my own clothes with the babysitting money. Oh, and I paid for flute lessons, too.
When I was 16 I got a job in a fabric store cutting fabric for customers. It was OK work, and I got a discount on fabric, so more clothes. By then I had learned to be frugal, so I saved much of what I made $$, and what with scolarships and grants and loans put myself through college. I went to an expensive private college:tuition room and board cost approximately $7000 per year! I did take a year off to work at a local chemical company. Thought I was in heaven making $6.00/hr. Graduated in 1980.
Now I'm a research biologist, and I love my work so much, I would do it even if they didn't pay me. But, of course, they do.

My first job was when I was 15. I worked for the Iowa Conservation Corps. We went around and painted park benches and kept the area parks clean. While it was alot of hard work we were rewarded with special "Fridays," where we would get to go canoeing, shoot archery, play volleyball, ect... it was a very rewarding job.

My first job was working on a farm. I took care of about 75 pigs. Feeding, cleaning out stalls(talk about an amonia spike!). There was this boar hog that followed me around like a dog, he loved to get his head scratched. When he heard me coming towards the pen, he would stand up on the fence and try to look over so he could see me coming.
