What water level do you run your tank at?

Ok so I'm plumbing my tank tonight and I was thinking of drilling a syphon stop in my spray bar in case of a power outage but don't know at what level to run the water in the display, with smaller tanks I've always run the water level to the bottom of the top trim, what do you guys do

Wherever you drill it...ensure your sump has the capacity to hold the tank water drained to that point...on my systems I drilled them right below the water line...on my 90, it is so close that it sometimes sucks a little air with the spray from it...

When everything is running I try to maintain my water level just high enough that I can't see the water line when normally viewing the display. But when the sump/refugium is shut down the water level drops a few inches below normal. I will also use a small hole just below my water line on returns to prevent back syphon during power outages...a simple procedure that could prevent a major flood. But as mentioned care needs to be taken to insure the sump can handle the extra volume when power is out.

Mine tipically runs about a 1/4 inch from the top of the tank, I have to make sure that the water is above the spraybar, and that the spraybar doesn't hang to low in the water colum and act as a syphon if there is a power outage.
