I just won a 165 Gallon tank off WWW.----.COM for $401.00 with cabnet stand and hood. It come with all the pumlbing and sump. I will need a pump, lights and skimmer and heaters. the dimetions are 60" long, 24" front to back, 30" high. I am going to put my Icecap 660 on it with 4 four foot bulbs and two 250W Icecap powered MH. for a skimmer i will add probaly add a etss downdraft or inline berlin. This will be a reef tank with just a center island of live rock covered with corals maybe 50-60 LBS of live rock, so there will be alot of room for fish, I just wan to know what you guys would add to this tank, i was thinking alone the like of sialfin tang, flame angle, 3-5 baggi cards, flame hawkfish, lawnmower blenny, sohal tang, sevilariuos butterfly, maybe a tusk fish, emperor angle, maroon clown. I will not add all these fish, just some of them. No triggers. any suggestions of a good starting line up i would appeciate, I will order all my fish form this site and www.***********.com I also keep my 65 reef as a qt tank so I can buy more than 1 fish at once. I will cycle with live rock and a deep sand bed. Anyone selling a cheap cal. reactor?
thanks ED :p

6 inch deep sand bed for starts.More live rock. No bio-balls. No berlin skimmer.
I would only keep one(maybe two) tang in a five foot tank.
Sure hope that this tank is not scratched or leaks.
Many used tanks I have seen are sratched.

I was looking for a tank on e-bay, but I didn't see any. What did you look under? You got a good deal. Even if it has a scratch or two.

I would put in more LR for sure
you do not have to have 6 inchs of LS you can have anywhere from 3-6. I would err more towards the 4-5 range. 6 IMO is just too much and starts to look silly. I have a berlin on my reef and i am very happy with it. Also remember to buy the biggest pump you overflows can handle. THe more LR you have the more fishies you can have. Also i would not put more than 2 tangs, that is the absolute max for a shorter tank like that.
other wise good luck. Now i am going to have to start looking on ---- for fishie tanks.

I heard that you should only have 1 tang or 3 or more tangs never just 2. they tend to fight. I'm no expert on tangs or anything, just something i heard.

Dirtybilge, are you picking up the tank or having it shipped to you? If shipped would you mind telling me how much it cost to have it shipped to you? Thanks in advance! Lisa

I think I will either buy an Euroreef or an EV-180 or 240 with iwaki pumps, what kind of fish would you guys throw in this tank? Can I add a red sea sailfin with my pacific sailfin?

what would I add?
pair of clowns, yellow tang, 6-line wrasse (or maybe the lunar wrasse if it would get along with the tang and clowns). Then of course inverts. I like to give my fish lots of room to play in...the two clowns we have now swim all over tank...
