Considering selling / trading my 15"+ Golden Moray eel (local only).
Anyone have any ideas what I should ask or trade him for?

As you know, selling and trading are not allowed on this site. I assume that you are just looking for ideas. Beautiful eel BTW!!!

This is the how to:
Trading is just that...It is a trade. So look around and see what an eel your size would cost.
Put up your ad saying FOR SALE or TRADE, then when someone contacts you they will make an offer on whatever they have to trade. You decide if the trade is worth it.
You always have the option of trading straight up, or getting an item + money...or someone may just offer money , then you buy what you want with it.
Happy Reefing

Man it will be sad seeing this guy go
.. How big is he now? Recently I have been seeing them go for 399(They havent been sellling though). Yours is the nicest one I have neve seen, so I guess you just have to figure out how much you want for it.

Awesome eel... I think a fair trade brings back about $350 - $400 in value. What direction are you looking to go with your tank? You want tangs, triggers, angels, liverock?

All your doing is asking people with real knowledge about an animal you have and what you think its worth. That IMO should be fair game.

why would you want to get rid of such an amazing eel?
Just kicking it around, I'm thinking of moving my DME from my 75g into the big tank and I can't risk my Golden's life.
If not I'm thinking of adding a larger eel to my 240g, maybe a Braz DME.

I agree with Crimzy $300-$400 is not out of line, the buyer also has the added security of buying an established animal as opposed to rolling the dice on a newly caught specimen.

I would see if you can find someone who would want to trade a crosshatch trigger for it if you realy want to get rid of it.

How big are each? If they're relatively close in size, add them together and see how it goes.
When I had my setup, I added my much smaller Whitemouth to my DME tank and they got along fine, for years.
