I sell it for 10$ a head (to the LFS) because corals are pretty hard to come by up here. less to regular people who deal directly with me. I think most places your only going to get like 4$ maybe 5 per head. of course they will sell it for double or triple that.

Normally the LFS will give you 1/3 of what they will sell an item for. Xenia goes for about 15 or 20 around here at the LFS.

Well, the LFS is selling my 5 frags for $24.99 each.
I traded them for 1 pepp. shrimp ($10) and 1 chromis ($6).
The shrimp died.
So I got $6.
...but I like the Chromis - he's cool.

Seen here I bought this one from my LFS for $ 35.00 and it is quite large. I had a choice too, I picked the medium one, there was one almost double this size for the same price.
I was told that with Xenia's its touch and go. In some tanks they do really well and in others not so good. Mine however is exceptional, in fact when I placed it in my tank a very very small frag only about 1/2" long with a barley visable end fell loose in my tank and was victim to the current. I let it go because I thought my filter would take it. But now it found its own spot in my LR under a bridge and is growing like mad. I wanted to remove it and put it in the light but I was told to leave it. It will eventually find its way there stretching to get to it. Its been growing and pulsing ever since, I feed it once a week and if it takes good if it doesnt well I wont be heart broken.
Here it is..........

Ohh ok. I work in Cranston live in Coventry. Are their any places near your end that are good for SW stuff? I have a few near me, although its not like I cant drive to Pawtucket in 30 mins. The FS I go to are about 10 mins away. And there is an unbelievable fish store in Cranston.

My favorite "fish" (because his fish were always in great condition) store is closing or is closed (Fintastic in Plainville, MA). I go to Rumford Pets in E. Providence, and RI Aquarium (closest to me) on N.Main St., Providence. I bought some fragging discs at Something Fishy, Inc. in Warwick - they have an actual Marine biologist working there. There's a place in N. Providence I haven't been to yet. Same thing in Seekonk.

Yep I have been to them all. I dont know if the one in N Prov. you are referring to is called the Sea Creature Aquarium or not. If it is dont waste your time. Not a big selection at all, and very messy. Makes RI Aquarium look clean, LOL. Rumford I have been to alot and the place in Seekonk wouldnt be "The Coral Reef Aquarium" would it? If so, that place rocks, best corals I have seen local, hands down. Something Fishy was the place in Cranston/Warwick I was talking about. They in fact have 2 Marine Biologists working there. Thats where I go for everything, they are more expensive but there knowledge is unbelievable. Well, I dont get all my corals there, I have gotten a few. The Coral Reef Aquarium is where i got most of my corals they have an unbelievable selection. But those Xenia's up top, I got from Something Fishy, LOL.
Also there is a store in Framingham MA I believe, anyway the name of it is Tropical Isle. Largest selection of Fish I have ever seen, salt water collection is unreal. In case you are interested, its a bit of a drive but well worth it. :joy:

Thanks for the info. I'll have to check out Framingham and the one in Seekonk. We should start a local club, "RI Reefers"??

Yea well alot of the places around here dont have the most pleasant looking tanks in the world even if their corals are cheap. To me its not worth spending 15 dollars less to put something unwanted in my tank.
I agree these guys are more expensive but the quality of their stuff is unbelievable.

I traded this xenia for a really nice pink zoo rock my lfs had in his DT that wasn't for sale. After begging him for months to sell it to me, the only thing he would consider was a trade even up for my xenia rock. He sold it for 90.00.
