What's a good diet

I know that it is better to feed a variety and I was wondering if mine sounded ok.... I feed frozen brine shrimp with spirulina-algae in the morning. I feed frozen mysis shrimp at night. I also drop some occasional algae pellets in and I also will start hanging some Nori from an algae clip. Does this sound like a well balanced diet for my fish??? Any suggestions???

I would add some marine flakes in there too. What kind of fish are you feeding?
Also, I was told by our LFS that mysis shrimp is a freshwater shrimp and is for freshwater fish, I know my saltwater tank will not eat it as I have tried.

Right now I only have 2 perculas and a lawnmower blenny, but plan on adding a 6-line, coral beauty, royal gramma, banggai, and sand sifting goby. Also plan on having some cleaner shrimp and peppermints.... I am surprised by the Mysis, because my clowns love them, and my puffer used to also. I actually read that mysis are more beneficial than brine, but as far as mysis being only for freshwater.... I have no clue, never been told that... As far as the flakes, I was feeding some of the green flakes and the fish seem to have gotten bored with them.

I feed the brine with spirulina every morning, just what my fish eat in 2 minutes. Every night I feed the Mysis, again what they can eat in 2 minutes..... As for the pellets, I haven't started using them yet, but I got them to keep my hermits off of my snails... The algae sheets I haven't used yet either but I bought them for my lawnmower bleeny because I have almost gotten rid of all of the hair algae and he needs something to eat..

I feed formula one, mysis, and angel formula. I plan on adding baby brine and a couple other veggie things. I have a firefish, coral beauty, and 2 chromis.

When soaking the frozen foods in garlic. Do u first defrost the food in water, then get rid of the water ( because of the phosphates in the gel) and then soak in garlic???? or what??

I don't. I put the Formula One in a mortar & pestal and take a couple teaspoons of saltwater and add it a long with freshly pressed garlic or galic extreme. Mash it up and refrigerate it for 1/2 an hour and then start feeding. Usually, I make enough of this one for the entire day.
However, I've really seem the fish go to town with this mess that I make.
I get a couple of clams, scallops, shrimp and nori and mix it all up in a small handheld food processor.
I then freeze it in old Formula One packages with a little less in each blister since I determined that one cube had to be divided by two of my main tanks.
When I want to defrost a piece of the stuff I just pop it out of the Formula One container and stick it in my pestal a long with pressed garlic and about a a tablespoon of saltwater to help with the mixing.

When you use the garlic press do you use just the juice or the fine pieces of garlic that come out from the press?

Debbie:
I make sure I get all the extract from the garlic clove, but I also allow a little bit of the garlic to get into the food. Not all of it, but enough to know that when it is soaking in my food and saltwater any extract that remains in the garlic is allowed to bleed into the food.
I know some people don't use the garlic pieces, and will just use the extract, however a few pieces never hurt the fish around here. Heck, my Picasso will even eat the bits of garlic that end up in the tank.
