hi when i buy snails and Shrimp. as soon as they go in my tank its like they die instantly....... hermit crabs are alive and i have 10 snails from this site that are alive.. but i just got 14 Turbo Snails today and they havnt moved yet there all still Inside there shell........ but hermit crabs are running around. also when i bought like 6 shrimp. peppermint.. as soon as touching my water...... it seems they die...
i dont think its copper because my hermits and some tiny nassuaras snails are moving around...
Id love to fix this problem cause i need cleaners lol.

I'm not an expert, take what I have to say for what its worth...It's just what I've been told by various people...
Turbo Snails are nocturnal. They might be fine, I would wait and see if they have moved tomorrow. Mine rarely move when the light is on.
Many Shrimp Species are very delicate. You sould definitely use the drip method of acclimation on them, and do it over a very extended period of time.
For the person asking about drip, It is a method for acclimation where you basically drip water in with the fish's current water gradually over a long period of time. It makes it a more gentle transition when you place it into the tank.

How old is the tank? What are your specific water parameters, esp specific gravity?
This most likely sounds like an acclimation problem, though I wouldn't rule out copper until you get it tested.

Most likely, from my experience...this is a high salinity problem. I too had the same problem and when I checked my salinity, it was off the charts. I know have snail and crabs and the minute we put them in the tank, they started moving around. This was of course, after we got the level down to where it needed to be. Good luck!!

im using RODI water from typhoon III but its not reading 0 TDS anymore so i ordered new filters getting them thursday.. but will that cause the shrimp and snails to like die on instant touching my water???
Hermit crabs are running around so it cant be copper right?

Hmm... well if it is a problem that has developed over time then your current residents may be able to withstand it over newly aquired ones.
Test for copper. Then I'd think the next best thing to do is do frequent water changes for a couple of months before trying again.
