Would Chromis live in a tank since January with no problems till now? Everyone bashes these fish but they actuall were nothin but friendly. The biggest bully is my Maroon Clown, AWESOME looking but a jerk.

Then it could be that your Clown is killing them.
Blue Green Chromis are a schooling fish. They establish a hierarchy. The lowest one on the totem pole dies from stress, injuries, not eating, etc. Your clown could be causing the same thing.

Think it would be worth it to buy a mantis trap and see what happens? Losing two chromis in 2 weeks is a little weird. Nothing like that since Jan. What ya think.

I've been having the same problem... Lost quite a few chromis and other fish that way... When the moon lights go on or I turn out the lights any fish that seems to hide in the rocks come out the next morning with slashes along their bodies... the slashes look like knife slashes/verticle slashes.... could it be my coral banded shrimp that is doing this??? hes not that big though...

I have 3 damsels. 2 blue ones, a very very small 4 stripe, amazing...the tomato protects the tiny 4 stripe from being bullied from the 2 blues.
Well, he let's the 4 stripe hang near "his" domain, but if the blues come around...out he comes and runs them off, he doesn't run after them, just runs them off...I guess a difference in type of clown??
I dunno

I dont hear any clicking noises at all so can it be a mantis or could it be something else? I have a big dragon goby, a Fiji Tomato clown, and a lawn mower blenny that hides in the rocks all the time too but when the lights come on niether of them have cuts on them... My shrimps and emerald crabs are fine too... :notsure: It's just strange I guess...
But if it is a mantis I hope to find it so I can put it in my other tank...

2 types of Mantis. The "popping" ones feed on snails, crabs, etc.
The "slashing" ones feed on fish. I'm not sure the slashing ones pop.
