yeah, that's just normal sand that i got from my LFS, so i know it's calcium based. There's also a bag of that LS mixed in there.
i gave him back to the LFS, and got store credit for the full amount.
so i'm gathering that almost 400 watts of PC lighting isn't enough for a brain? I must have some bad information. I won't be trying a brain again, that's for sure! They had a pipe organ, but half of the stalks weren't there, so i didn't go for it. It didn't look to good to me... They also had a finger leather, but it was only the size of a golf ball, and that's not worth $37 to me.
THanks for all of the help guys!!!

That is enough light for a brain. I had mine under 260 watts of PCs before I got MH and he grew like crazy.
I really don't believe that lighting was the problem.

I agree thats enough to keep a brain coral there might have been something wrong with the coral to start with.. Keep in touch with the petstore and check to see how its doing in their tanks and what lighting its under there. so you can reference your tank to the difference is starts doing better. if it doesnt then there was something already wrong with it that came to the surface once you got it.

oh, ok, cause i read multiple posts that said "that's not enough light for a brain..."...
cause i saw another really cool really big brain there... it was different than the open brain, so i didn't get it cause i don't know anything about it... i'll see if i can look it up...

ok, after doing a little research, i discovered that the brain i saw is a lobo brain. I read that they're easy to take care of. Do i have strong enough lighting for one?
