Whats growing on my LR? pics included

Hey everyone, ive had a few spots of red on my rocks during cycle. After a few weeks it seems the red spots are covering more area on almost all my rocks. Ive seen rocks turning purple in well established tanks but never red spots. Anyone have any clue what this is? Is it normal?

It doesn't look red... it looks purple, IMO it's coraline algae

If you are referring to the 'purple', most looks like coraline algae...(good), but I see a hint of 'red slime' algae also (not so good). How old is the tank? What are your water parameters like? Phosphates?

Most does look purple when you mention it, but seems redish at certain angles.

Which section in the photos are you seeing red slime?
Tanks 2 months old.

temp - 79-80
Dont test for phosphate yet, but will be soon with a reef test kit once purchased.

Mike...Looking good, parameter wise. In the top photo..about the center..there is the hint a a red 'sludge'..this is red slime algae as far as I can tell. You can do a thread search for more detail. But, you usually get this developing when you have excess nutrients (especially phosphates),
a 'dead space' in term of minimal water flow in one spot, excess lighting and low alkalinity.
Hope that gives you some areas to explore.

Sure does... Will keep an eye out in that section of rock and will search the threads for more info.
