What's my anemone doing

Hey Sly has that anemone stablized itself at all? I'd still like to know if it was the PH and alkalinity that was responsible. It did sound like it but I would like some further imput after over a month since your incident.

Yes, the anemone seemed to improve and look normal again. Unfortunately it died a few weeks ago when it floated away and got sucked against a power head.

I came home from working and its tenticles were wrapped into the plastic guard and its mouth was over the end of the guard like it was trying to eat the power head. I ripped its little body trying to get it off the power head.
I bought a new one that is bigger. The clowns (I have 2 now) love swimming in it. This one seems less tempermental than the other one. It stays open almost all the time, including at night time. When I bought it, it was a real pale flourescent green. It wasn't getting enough light at the LFS. Since I've had it, it has darkened considerably and the tenticles are getting to be real thick.
I'm not sure what caused the other anemone to act up. From the day I got it it would sometimes have these fits and not want to open up. It kept growing and the color looked real nice but still it would turn itself upside down at night where the one I have now doesn't seem to care.
I was feeding my old anemone once a week. This new one I've only fed once since I've had it, and I don't plan on feeding it much anyway. I bought some real fine froxen fish food (forgot what it's called). My clowns and the chromis love it, but it's really too fine for my grouper to eat so I feed him something else. This food is so fine that it seems to drift into the anemone and feed it that way. So I now don't manually feed it anymore. I've read that feeding an anemone can actually be bad since it can become accustomed to the additional food and come to require it. Then if there's any change in feeding, it could die. I'll just let this one feed naturally and see what happens.

Well thanks for the update, sorry to hear about your first one. I hate when things like that happen.
Good luck with your new one.
