i just finished cycling my tank. From a previous post of mine, im infomed that my SG (1.021) is low.....i have a FOWLRLS tank...anyone shed some light on the whole SG thing????
I keep my reef at 1.025-1.026 and FOWLR at 1.023-1.024
inverts are the main reason for the higher SG in a reef the need a higher SG for mobility and such from what I read .

I've had my SG at 1.009...then again, i was getting rid of ick. Not a fun job, but it worked. Well, lowering the Sg over a lil time, and garlic...not only keeps the vamps away, but ick too.
Fish use less energy maintaining osmotic balance at slightly lowered salinity. I keep our reef at 1.025, and our FOs at about 1.022, and the eel was at 1.021.
