Hello, everyone, I'm considering starting a reef tank, and I want to know of the best book for beginners there is....I want something that will answer all basic questions and some complex one's as well. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks!

The book that I read when I first started my tank is:
Marine Reef Aquarium Handbook by Dr. Robert J. Goldstein.
Copywrite 1997.
I find it has good instruction for starting, and cycling a tank and has good general info on a bit of everything. It has topics from start up, to filtration, lighting, algae control, deasease and treatment, and on and on.
This book helped me set up and maintain my tank, and I still refer to it from time to time. It has many photos and information on a lot of the popular types of livestock in the hobby.
Along with information that you aquire from this and other sites, I think you would have the tools necessary for a succesful tank.

I would suggest either Aquarium Corals by Eric Borneman, or Natural Reef Aquariums by John Tullock, or both ;)

"New Marine Aquarium Handbook" by Michael Paletta. Hands down BEST beginner book for salt water aquaria. Covers all kinds of filtration, supplements, live rock, live sand, lighting, etc.

I've got both. Eric Borneman's book will explain you everything about the corals and will describe every family of the corals. This book will support you all the way. Second book will explain you how to build and run the reef tank. Has briefly description about some coral families, fishes, anemone/clownfish compatibility.
I like both books and definitely recommend them. I think you can buy them on Amazon for a good price.
Good luck!!!

I recommend "both" of these!!:) "Natural Reef Aquariums" by John Tulloch and "The Conscientous Marine Aquarist" by Robert Fenner.
The 1st book is great on detail in the reef........but the 2nd is sooo helpful for outlining all information for beginners, as well as nicely detailed!
Have fun!
