I have a pretty small lunar wrasse and a damsel I want to transfer into different tanks but I dont reallly have the time to go chasing them with a net (I tried this for a half hour already) I told them that they would be going to a better home but they didnt wanna hear it.
How does that thing with the 2 liter bottle work, can anyone tell me how to make it? And how willing would the fish actually be to go in it? seems like they would be too afraid to me.
any other methods?

cut the bottle in half, turn the top part around and stick it back in the bottom half, put some food in it (something can go in but not very easy to come out).
Here's a better way, but will take a few days, possibly a week. Put all of your food in your net and feed them with the net every feeding by lowering the net in the water and slowly moving it around, letting the food drift out. In no time, the fish get used to it, some even swim in the net to grab food, but usually all of them get close enough you could scoop them up.

I just use two nets when its in my big tank and trap them between rocks and eventually it will swim into one of them.

I have used the bottle trap method for several damsels and a couple pseudochromis with great results. Sometimes I catch the wrong fish, but you just pull the trap apart, let the fish out, reset it and try again. I've never had it take more than a week to catch the fish I want.
Here's a basic diagram on how to make it. Just ignore the cap on the bottle... I couldn't find a pic without a cap on it to edit.

Just put a little food in the bottom of it, place in your tank and wait patiently. It takes a day or so for the fish to get comfortable enough with the bottle to approach it, but if you're using a clear plastic bottle with no label, its hard for them to see.

piece of plexi glass the height and width of tank. move just a few rocks from one end, put the glass in-leaving the bottom open a few inches, chase them in, and push down the glass.

Thanks those are all pretty good ideas. I just ended up netting the whole rock he was in with some huge net thing I had but it took over and hour to finally do that. I think im using one of these ideas for next time haha

Depending on how big the tank is, I would tear it down. That wrasse is going to be tough to catch

IMO wrasses are the hardest to catch, especially formosa wrasses they bury them selfs in the sand and swim around under the sand so u have to dig up everything
. i still untill today was nver able to catch mine. i want to trade him at my LFS cause he has gotten too big.
