Helping setup a 250 this weekend, the guy said his water comes out in chuncks so how do you obtain 250 gallons of good water to mix with salt? Advice please!!!

When you say chunks, do you mean he has an ro that produces a certain amount of water daily??
If so, you either put in whatever your ro unit produces until you have enough in your tank, or go purchase what you need if you're in a hurry.
You can purchase some rubber storage/trash cans at lowes on wheels which are great for keeping your salt water mixed in-you will need to have at least 20-30 gallons on hand at all times anyway with such a large tank.

By chuncks I meant his tap water is very hard and he does not have filters. He got a killer deal on the tank. Tank, stand, sump, powerheads for 250.00

Wow, Great deal!
OK, If you have researched these boards, you will see that Tap water carries all sorts of problems with it. I made the mistake of using tap water initially, thinking that because it was well water-no problem. However, it was full of phosphates-from fertilizers and who knows what else-took a while to clean it up.
RO is recommended. Steam distilled is ok. If you have to use tap water, I would have it tested for metals and all the other stuff before using it for the tank.
It is so much easier to start right-a lot easier than cleaning up our mistakes after the fact.

I would say get it ( RO ) at WalMart and the grocery stores if you need it quick. Go to as many as you have to to find that much.
BTW, PC is my home town...miss it.

Thanks guys I will let him know. Our LFS keeps 100 gal of salt and 100 gal for RO fresh on hand so we will probably go there.
