Whoever wrote this needed to come up with something to do in my view. If AP directly quoted Obama, then so what? Are you supposed to "clean up" the president's speech before publishing it? No.
Now, should Obama have used that to this audience or any audience? I would have have thought twice about it if I were him, which I am not him.
