Whats the deal with the fish names under our usernames?

What/Why are there names of different types of fish under our user names? I tried to find out through the faq but didnt find any info. I havent seen it addressed since I have been on the board either. just curious...Thanks

Kinda like a rating system.. only it does not mean anything.. The more you post the higher up on the food chain you go

Thanks guys! I was really curious how that worked. I understand that # of post is not = to knowledge. I have seen a couple people that seem to just continue to post whatever or "I agree with______"...it must be to increase their ranking I assume.

I am wondering how a person can attain information on how many posts t hey have placed and how what rating they are about to get? thanks guys
