I was just wondering if they were the same or what because I just bought a feather duster and SWF says they eat phyto but i have zooplankton. Do I need to go get some phytoplankton now? Will the duster eat zooplankton too?

zooplankton is the bigger organisms, like copepods, while phytoplankton are microscopic algae cells. you dont need to feed the feather duster, itll catch its own food..

I think zooplankton is more for clams and scallops while phytoplankton is geared more for anemones. My anemones absoutely love phytoplankton.

Looks very nice. I recommend putting a black background up on your tank and it will look incredible.
Thats a pretty feather duster. Mine is the exact opposite: big brown feathers with small bands of white.
As far as feeding the feather duster: if you have anemones or clams you feed, the duster will eat anything they miss. Otherwise I would put a couple of ml of phytoplankton in a needleless syringe and manually feed the duster once a week.
Remember when feeding inverts: always UNDERFEED!!!

The zooplex may have particles that are a little too large for the feather duster, but that is just my guess. Honestly, you can get away with not feeding the feather duster at all. If you feed more than once a week there is a very good chance that your water quality will foul.
Also, when feeding, don't use more than 1-2 ml (will look almost like nothing in the syringe). If you can get your girlfriend to agree on it, I wouldn't feed the feather duster more than once a month.

most or probably all species of phytoplankton are too fine for the anenomes to feed on, zooplankton is what it eats naturally. so you should feed it meatier foods, once in awhile that is..
the feather duster catches its own food everyday, if it didnt, it wouldve died on you awhile ago..
