I've literally been playing that game with my gold head sleeper goby for 2 weeks. You see he was eating prepared foods but was too scared of me and hid when I fed the tank. So I would walk slowly to the tank and freeze when he turned to look at me

Finally yesterday he came out for about 2mins during feeding time to gobble up a decent amount of food.

Just out of curiosity, what do you pro's do for fish that are shy and don't eat? Any tips for next time?

Depends on fish. Certain fish live foods are needed others its just a certain food. Fish dependant really

Usually just give them time. After about a week or two they get used to you and don't hide so much.

This is very true. Rabbit fish and wrasse in my experience are very shy at first
