personally i have not had much come out of my rocks only the usual bristle worms, i have heard of someone who claims they had a baby blood shrimp but i doubt that

ok i'm not crazy I had tiny lil animals that kind of looked like a horse dog rinoserous almost too small to see I freaked out and made my old boss come over to see ...thought oh my god I'v cracked" yep they were real but I have no idea, and they died soon after. they looked like they were made of rock

I've had all the normal stuff: britsle worms(one that was almost over 7in long), spaghetti worms, pods, bristle stars, the crazy multi-legged little blue stars, a rock crab or two, some really cool snails, etc.
I did have some hitchhikers on a zoo rock I bought. They were little slug/nudibranch looking things that were brown with little soft spikes coming up off their backs. They spent their days wandering around the zoo rock that they blended in with.

I have gotten:
several brittle stars - probebly 10-12
3 different urchins - 2 pencil - 1 spiney
emeral crab
A huge zoo on a really cool rock that the LFS said would not survive. Looks like i got a good buy.

A few years back I bought chunk of live rock because it was full of mushrooms a few hours later a bicolor pseudochromis swam out of a finger sized hole in the rock believe it or not. What a freebie! I went back to the lfs and told him about it and he tried to charge me for it, can ya believe that!!!!!!!!!

i did have a muscle thing on a small rock with mushrooms on it, i thought it was just a shell but it kept moving slightly and one day it moved alot and i noticed that it had changed postions and i thought "hmm that things alive" and it was pushing the mushroom out so i pulled the thing off but it was blody strong! i put it on abit of rock and the next day it was gona and i havnt seen it since

Tonga does not have all the nookes and crannies of other rock. I use mostly honduras rock. it is full of little places for these buggers to hide.

are most things that come out, good.....or bad. like all those worms and things. can you leave them, or does it depend on the critter. and that medusa (linked and few posts up).....what a scary critter it is. looks like it could eat a whole fish...hehehehe.
