Whats with the hate?

I don't recognize most the names on here anymore, and mostly ghost the reefkeeping posts, but popped my head in here and was taken a back by the negativity.
Why can't a person vote for a person without hating the other canidate? Or why can't people express why they would vote for their canidate with out trashing the other canidate?
For example I am voting for Obama because I think he has the right idea for veterans issue...McCain may be right on military issues, but not veteran issues...I also like Obamas energy and economic plans. I did however think John had the edge on Foreign Policy experience. I was almost leaning McCains way until he picked Palin. I don't want a through and through partisan anywhere near being the prez. Neither canidate is the anti-christ, and neither is the be all end all.
I just think that in this Limbaugh/O'rielly/ohlberman/franken enviroment that we lost site of normal debate, and everything is venom and hate...so it will probably two more years before I post anything again, hope the economy and the countries image is a little better before than, no matter who wins

I would have almost taken this as genuine had you not used it as an opportunity to deliver a political stance .

I remember Kip, but I am guessing I stopped posting long before he did. My brother Overanalyzer has temporarily given up the hobby. I still keep a small tank with a few things, but spend way too much time traveling to keep a large tank anymore.

It's kinda hard to find any of the old posts.
Still living in KS?
Are you going to the Chiefs game?

You're 100% right. The animosity has gotten way out of hand. I don't even read through the political threads much anymore. I think, as an explanation, that both sides become frustrated because we all probably agree that this is one of the most important elections in recent history. Each side think the opposing candidate will cause more harm in an already struggling country. That and a bunch of immature posters leads to what you have seen.

I suppose its much like a scab people keep picking it and it bleeds . Then it get's infected turns red and swells up , Becomes itchy ,then it get's picked at more .
Maybe the anger would subside if the scab was left alone to heal rather than being picked at all day everyday .
Everyday a new thread gets started about one candidate or the other . Weather its positive or negative based its become pointless because the opposing party will just use it as a chance to drudge up the same old garbage .

I was just wondering if you ever watch O'Reilly. To lump him in with Olberman and Limbaugh strikes me as off the wall.

+1, but i am for McCain and I think he is the better canidate and his VP pick of Palin was better than Obama's pick of Biden. I don't not like Obama and Biden, infact I highly respect them, but everyone has their own veiws and beliefs which they are entitled to.
