i had a colony of green polyps do the same when i first introduced them to the tank... they were fine for like 4-5 days then that started happening
sorry to say about almost all of them died left behind like 8 of them outta 60-70 now that 8 has turned back into about 40
have no clue to what happened probably bad acclimation process or something they pretty much suck in then die off
dont get me wrong i have lots of zoo's in my tank and i can spot the difference between a normal healthy closed zoo and one thats dying and expelling there zoanxthelle algaes
how long have u had them ??

hmmm doesnt sound all too bad considering zoo's are easy to care for they dont need calcium and 390 is ok
but like i said same thing happened before to me with one of my colonies almost all perished for what reason i had no idea it was the wierdest thing acuz everything else was doing great ..... some animals cant handle the transitions that well if some survive dont worry they can multiply fast

Hey there... mY zoo looks exactly like yours does in the picture. It was perfectly fine for about three weeks and then all of the sudden it looks like this. The other corals are doing just fine too. I was wondering if the toothbruch technique works? Did your zoo survive?

Toothbrush method... i use them sometimes for my star polyps. when the polyps sense movement, a predator or food in thier "mouths", they close up. for my star polyps, sand and algae would cover them and they would begin to close and stay closed, thinking it was food or a predator. what i did was use a very SOFT brush to lightly brush the tips of the polyps, ive used a siphon to siphon the dirt away too. this clears up the polyps and they open again. however my zoos have also dont the same thing as yours. ive had them for years and one day they just all closed and a few died off, i looked on SWF and noticed it happened to many people. they are slowly opening up and growing back, although some look bleached. i have no idea what caused it.
