My fishies all seem to be breathing really heavily suddenly does anyone know what would cause this?
We need alot more information then this in order to help.
ummm lets see.....I added some water yesterday because a bunch had evaporated...you see i moved from my parents house about 2 weeks ago and have been too scared to move my tank and have been around about once every 3-4 days to add water and whatnot...my mom feeds them everyday. I want my fish to be in the best possible condition before i move the whole tank especially because i am not sure how i am going to go about moving my tank yet

Are they swimming fine, but just breathing heavily, because im in a crisis right now where my fish is on its side, breathing heavily
Maybe a swim bladder problem!:nope:
I added less than five gallons into my eighty gal tank because it had evaporated so i dont think it was that but maybe. Should i turn the bubbles up on my power head?
make sure mom is not overfeeding which could cause problems. I was a teeenager when I first got into this hobby...I had a Porc Puffer...I caught my dad feeding it bread! God rest his soul...the puffer bit the dust...not sure if the bread did him in....or what the heck was on it.

That's quite a bit actually..I would try to get over to your mom's home more often if you want the fish to do well.Fluctuation of any kind causes stress..stability is the key.You could either consider the move of your tank,or teach your mom how to add the gallon or so needed every day..perhaps draw a small line with a marker..to show her where the water level should be.
