Are you getting a lot of micro bubbles in the tank? If they are clear and on the body, but not the fins, then it is likely not ich. It wouldn't hurt to perform Hyposalinity if you are not sure. You bring the water down to 1.009 over 48 hours. Count three weeks from the last time that you see a spot. If you never see a spot then just hypo for three weeks. You will need a refractometer for this. Being that you have seen ich on them before, it would be a good idea to treat them before infecting the larger tank.
FW dips only remove some of the parasites.
ok well to me these definantly dont look like ich.. so should i try a fw dip first? if so how long should i wait to see if the spots are gone? do i just dump them in the fw or acclimate them to it?
i have a refractometer, and i would just have to transfer a couple of snails out to do hypo, but i havnt seen the ich on them since the first week i got them.. and its been many months that ive had them now, so do you think i should still do hypo?

ok well i think i might try a freshwater dip tomorrow and then start lowering the salinity for hypo.. to see if they will go away.. any other ideas? also how much ro water should i add in my 72 when doing my water change to slowly bring down the salinity?

ok i didnt get around to do any of that today, i did a water change and thats it.. i doubt i will be able to do anything for the next couple days either..
on a good note, i think my smaller clowns cheeks arnt as indented as they were a couple days ago, so hopefully they are on the way to recovery, i see 2 spots right now on the smaller one and 3-4 on the bigger one.

perhaps try formalin dips. sometimes clowns can get brook in the form of slime coats or patches> which maybe interpreted by you as something different. whatever it is good luck!

Can you post a picture of this? Have you looked closely with a magnifying glass? If it was Brooklynella then they would be dead by now without treatment.

when i talked to beth she thought it was lympohocyctis, so now i know its not brook right? and i cant post pics my camera isnt working very well and i tried to take pics but none of them showed the bumps, they arnt that big, but i barely could get an ok pic of the clownfish..

hmmm. I guess it could be ick. but if the water quality remains good and you continue to feed well issues like this often resolve themselves. In the beginning I used to get so riled up treating everything I found it did more stress and harm than good. Perhaps sit back and see where this goes for now. good luck though fishygurl

its not ich, ive had that before and there are no little spots, and these bumps are bigger than ich and they arnt on the fins, and i dont know im 99.99% sure its not ich.. and if its not brook then it might be that lympohocyctis beth said. So im hoping it is cuz it said it will go away in like a month on its own no treatment necessary just good nutrition and away from other fish, which they already are.
