Hmmmm...
Have you seen the hermits on it at all? They are known to pick at dusters once in a while.

Sometimes there's just little that can be done. Things can go awry anywhere from collection to various shipping trips, etc.
FYI, I would slowly raise the salinity to about 1.026.
If the worm comes out of the tube, make sure to isolate it from the crabs so that it might have some chance to secrete a new tube. It might also drop its crown (which looks damaged to me), but there is still hope.

Thats true however the subject in the picture is not a cocoa worm. Its a feather duster and its tube is made up of a different material than a cocoa worms.
