What's wrong with my kenya tree coral?

I have a large kenya tree coral and over the past 2 days it has stayed retracted with no polyps out. It is not fully retracted, but it looks like something is wrong. All my other corals and shrooms are wide open and beautiful. Just did a water change. I have noticed that 2 branches have broken off. Could this be what is causing it to stay closed? Do the branches break off by themselves? Or is one of my fish doing it?
Any help is great.
Thanks.

The branches should not be just falling off. What type of flow is it in.What are your water test results and have you had and sudden changes in anything also what lighting do you have and where is the coral placed in the tank.Do you have any crads that may be cutting off teh branches like a sally lite foot crab or something.DO the branches appear to be desinergating off.

JME....Kenya does not get as large as a normal red or brown colt and they do shrink up sometimes as a way to exspell waist ( so ive been told thats why ) and they can drop small branches that you can glue to another rock for a frag or let them attach on their own.. Mine do this about every other month.... JME

My Kenya just did the same thing. All but one branch fell off. I gathered them up, threw some rubble and frags in a plastic cup, waited a few days and had baby kenyas! LFS guy said that's one way they propogate! The "mother" looks a little bare, but the one branch left is doing great! Just keep an eye on it- you should be a proud parent soon!

It is now the hrid day and my kenya tree coral is still retracted. There is one branch that looks normal, but the rest of them are dark purple and retracted. All water parameters are good. If it is reproducing, how long will this take? Has anyone else ever had this happen? If i had a digital camera i would take a picture of it, but i don't have one.

I have a Kenya that regularly retracts for a couple of days and comes back strong everytime. I'm trying to figure it out also by taking water tests, and seeing if adding iodine, and strotium helps, trying to figure out a pattern. Are you adding anything to the water? What kind of lighting do you have and what kind of water flow, etc, etc...
Whats your calcium level?
