sorry my camera is pretty bad, its just a normal point and shoot, it doesnt grab color that well

unless i have them backwards, gonis have 12 tentacles, and alve have 24, which is one of the only ways to tell them apart. alves actually do much better in captivity according to my research on them. the pic isnt a close up, but i think i count many more than 12 on that pic.

You've got it backwards, Krux, Alveos have 12 and Gonos have 24. Polarpooch's new critter is a goniopora.

thats what i get for being away from my desk!
i have seen a couple gonis live for a long long time in captivity, i guess it all depends on wether or not you can satisy their quasi-unknown needs.
good luck on that specimine, and i would love to see some pictures down the road of its progress.
