I just ate a Chicken Taco Salad... little lettuce, Mexi flavored chicken, a little sharp cheddar, and some Picante as dressing...not much of a snack but one heck of a meal!!!

inuslin resistance. no sugar for this chica! I DO eat the low-carb ice cream tho - they are MUCH better than the sugar free stuff, and sometimes the sugar content is so negligeable that it doesn't present a problem for me. huzzah for the south-beach craze!

My mom just learned this week that she had diabetes. Her blurred vision that she thought was her eyeglass prescription turned out to be related and the meds they gave her have already begun to help the fuzzyness. She went to the doc because of discomfort urinating.

Thank G-d they caught it in time!! All four of my Grandparents are/were diabetic, and when I went to the doc complaining that sugar gave me headaches, they told me to get off sugar ASAP and to do 30mins of cardio 3 times a week. Hopefully this will head it off and I won't get full blown diabetes - but they are doing some amazing things now in terms of treatments, so it's really not an end-of-the-world diagnosis anymore.
