Whatszit?

I picked up this coral in package deal from a local guy who sells coral out of his basement. He didn't know, and I don't know what the heck it is. It's not teh bestest photo, but it's close enough for government work. It looks like a Dr. Seuss tree.Can anybody tell me what this is? (the purple tree thing in the forground)

I dont think thats the item they're talkng about.....thats in the back and they were asking about the tall item closer to the front of the pic. (at least that's what I got out of his post) - unless it's attached - I dont know...

Forefront - Dr. Seuss tree.

It is a green star polyp that has encrusted upon a sea fan (gorgonian).

No the GSP appear to be on the rocks behind the item their talking about.Not sure what it is though

Apparently my poor picture is causing some confusion. If you look at the bottom of the photo, between the 2 rocks, you will see the bottom or base of the coral. It grows up like a tree from there with 3 branches radiating out off of the base. It's blueish purple. (which is probably lavender, but hetero men don't use that word)
