does it make everything smell like flouride treatment from the Dentist office?
a magentic submersible pump (rio 3100) i have been using for water changes (thankfully) for a few years stopped working. i left it churning up 15 gals of a new batch of SW over night. i came back the next day and the pump was not working. now the water has a heavy smell to it that is almost exactly like a dentist chemical like a flouride treatment. thats the nearest thing i can guess it smells like. i took the pump out, it smells and still will not turn on after dismantling and reassembly. no signs of burns.
i am guessing the pump is gone. can i use the water or is that most likely a bad idea?
